Freeman Scholarship, China and Vietnam, Fall and Spring Semester

School for International Training

Student Eligibility

* Demonstrated interest in China or Vietnam
* Enrollment in a public institution
* Demonstrated financial need
* Minimum GPA 2.5
* At least one year of undergraduate course work at the time of application
* Non-native speakers of English are required to have a minimum TOEFL score of 600

Requirements

* Nominators must be the student's professor or academic advisor
* Nomination form received by March 15 (for fall semester) or June 15 (for spring semester)
* Formal letter of recommendation and complete student appication received by April 15 (for fall semester) or July (for spring semester)

Note: Please discuss the scholarship opportunity with the student before submitting nomination form. There are no language or course prerequisites, but courses about East Asia can provide evidence of interest in China or Vietnam.

Students who are not selected for the SIT Freeman Scholarship are eligible for participation under our normal rolling admissions policy on a splace available basis. Some financial aid is available to regular applicants.
