Part-time Swahili Instructor Needed for the 2010-11 Academic Year.
UCLA is offering language classes in Swahili and Yoruba this fall and a part-time instructor is needed for two levels of Swahili.

Position Description: Pending funding, The UCLA James S. Coleman African Studies Center seeks a part-time instructor or teaching assistant for Swahili for the 2010-11 Academic Year (23 September 2010 to 10 June 2011). Classes meet 4 - 5 hours per week; instructors will be responsible for teaching, lesson planning, writing exams and quizzes, and grading student work, up to 20 hours per week.
Qualifications: Applicants should have teaching experience and a degree in a relevant discipline. (M.A. or other advanced degree preferred.) Experience with university students in the United States is a plus. Candidates should speak Swahili at the Superior proficiency level or beyond, and also have strong English skills. Applications must have unrestricted work permits/visa status for U.S. employment.
