GCPI Invited to Kick Off US-China Philanthropy Intergenerational Dialogue

On Tuesday, January 16th, the Global Chinese Philanthropy Initiative (GCPI) participated in an event hosted by China Institute and Chinese Global Philanthropy Institute (CGPI), titled "US-China Philanthropy: An Intergenerational Dialogue." The closed-door session brought together over 50 Chinese, Chinese American, and American professionals and notable philanthropists. Steven Schwarzman gave a brief keynote on his philanthropic journey, specifically how he came to establish the Schwarzman Scholars program, and GCPI Founder John Long and his daughter Vivian were invited to speak about family philanthropy alongside Susan and David Rockefeller Jr. and Joan and Betsy Davidson. Additionally, 10 young philanthropists traveled from China with CGPI to participate and share their unique insights, making the event truly bilateral. That evening, GCPI co-hosted an intimate dinner with the dialogue participants and Stewart Kwoh spoke on the various GCPI findings.
