Call for Papers: Global Chinese Philanthropy Initiative Tsinghua Forum

Deadline: March 15, 2018

“The Global Chinese Philanthropy Initiative (GCPI) Tsinghua Forum” will be held at Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, on June 28, 2018. This forum is co-organized by the Center for Chinese Entrepreneurs Studies (CCES) of Tsinghua University and the Asia Pacific Center (APC) of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The Tsinghua University president, UCLA chancellor Gene Block, executive dean of Tsinghua Schwarzman College, Chinese government officials, distinguished philanthropists from China and the U.S., leaders of philanthropic foundations and organizations, and academic scholars will participate in this one-day forum.

The GCPI Tsinghua forum aims to promote philanthropic spirit and corporate social responsibility, increase the global visibility of the contributions of Chinese philanthropists to world prosperity and peace; and build an interactive platform among Chinese, Chinese American, and other philanthropists, professionals of philanthropic foundations and organizations, and academic scholars for stimulating dialogue, exchange, collaboration, and research on issues of common interest. In today’s increasingly globalized world, philanthropy has no borders. We hope that you will join us to promote the effective communication and positive development of philanthropy; to advance Chinese and Chinese American philanthropists as positive, contributing role models in Greater China, the United States, and around the world; and to strengthen China-US relations.

We sincerely invite you to submit papers for the forum’s academic panels. We consider papers on the general themes of: Chinese philanthropy from historical and contemporary perspectives; Chinese American philanthropy; comparative research on Chinese and Chinese American philanthropy; philanthropy and education; overseas Chinese, Chinese entrepreneurship, and philanthropy; corporate social responsibility; and methodological issues in research on philanthropy. Please submit your paper title and abstract by March 15, 2018. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at +86 13811705842, or email us at xingjinghua@tsinghua.edu.cn, mzhou@soc.ucla.edu. We look forward to discussing the matter with you and receiving your positive response.
