"Nonviolence and Truth in Post-Truth Times", an international conference on Mohandas Gandhi
This conference is organized by Vinay Lal, Professor of History and Asian American Studies, will be held at UCLA from Thursday Jan 30 - Sunday February 2, 2020.
The conference will feature some of the world's leading scholars on Gandhi as well as the histories and practices of nonviolent resistance.
Confirmed speakers are the Rev. James M. Lawson, Ajay Skaria (Minnesota), Charles DiSalvo (West Virginia), David Hardiman (Warwick), Faisal Devji (Oxford), Gopalkrishna Gandhi (Chennai), Karuna Mantena (Columbia), Leilah Danielson (Northern Arizona), Neelima Sheikh-Bhatt (Wellesley), Ritu Khanduri (U of Texas-Arlington), Sarah Azaransky (Union Theological Seminary), Sudipta Kaviraj (Columbia), Sumathi Ramaswamy (Duke), Tridip Suhrud (Ahmedabad), and Uday Mehta (CUNY)."
All events are free and open to the public, and will be held on the UCLA campus.
