The Canadian Studies Graduate Student Research Award will support travel to present my research, “Development of Biodegradable Thermoplastic Elastomers for Single-Use Medical Devices: A Sustainable Alternative to Conventional Polymers,” at the 2026 Canadian Societies for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CSC/CSChE) Conference and Exhibition.

This work advances sustainable materials design by developing biodegradable elastomeric systems intended to reduce persistent plastic waste in medical applications. The award funds will be used exclusively to offset travel-related expenses, including airfare, lodging, and registration, enabling dissemination of this research to the Canadian scientific community and fostering collaboration in polymer science, sustainable chemistry, and biomedical engineering.
