Pow Camacho-Lemus
Pow Camacho-Lemus (they/them) is a Ph.D. candidate in the UCLA department of Asian Languages and Cultures under Buddhist Studies. Before continuing at UCLA, they received their BA at Cornell University in Asian Studies and Religious Studies, and later an MA in East Asian Studies at UCLA. Their dissertation project examines religious interpretations of disaster causality, and further theorizes precarity, gendered labor, and futurity through an exploration of religious aid frameworks in the wake of 3.11 and their adaptation through COVID-19.
