With the increasing number of robust research that continues to disapprove some of the early positive findings of western mindfulness, particularly Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, the need for revisiting the four foundations as presented in the early Suttas, is critical.
We will let the step-by-step explanation of the practice of the four foundations from a psychological perspective speak for itself to give the audience the richness, depth and range of the four foundations as presented by the Buddha.

Lobsang Rapgay, PhD is a clinical and research psychologist, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, UCLA, and Adjunct Professor in Psychology, UNCW.
Currently, he teaches and trains psychology graduate students in the department of psychology, UNCW treating generalized anxiety disorder with Mindfulness-based Integrative Psychotherapy. He specializes in treating GAD and borderline personality disorders and has written a book on Kleinian-based Integrative Psychotherapy for treating borderline personality disorder.
He was a Buddhist monk for 18 years in the Tibetan tradition and is well-versed in Buddhist theory and practice. He maintains a regular practice of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness as presented in the earlier Suttas.
