Covid-19 safety protocols

Given the sharp rise in Covid cases we are going to require all participants to 1) fill out a clearance form and 2) do a rapid Covid test on each day before entering the conference.

The link to the UCLA daily clearance form is here:

https://uclasurveys.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3qRLtouCYKzBbH7

If you are not currently affiliated with UCLA, please select “Non-UCLA community member.”

No one is exempt from this daily survey including UCLA affiliates (who already take the on-campus PCR tests) and people who have had Covid recently.

Registration will be set up each day at the north entrance of Royce Hall.

At registration you will show your UCLA clearance status (on your phone), and will then receive a rapid covid test. You will perform the test yourself, wait fifteen minutes for the result, and then take your negative result back to be given a name tag, upon which you can enter Royce Hall and make your way to the conference room. If you are UCLA faculty, staff, or student, you can show your overnight UCLA PCR test in lieu of a rapid test.

Anyone who tests positive will not be admitted into the conference room, and will be asked to return home (or to their hotel) to isolate. Any presenter who tests positive will have the option of presenting by Zoom or canceling their presentation.

If you arrive late to the conference, please come to the desk outside Royce 314 and someone will take you outside so you can do the rapid test. Please allow plenty of time for this.

We understand that this may be inconvenient, but given the sharp rise in cases we want to do everything we can to have a safe conference.

Please note that KN95 or KF94 masks or respirators must be worn by everyone, including speakers, at all times indoors. We will have masks available at registration for any attendee who needs one.

Please contact Jennifer Jung-Kim at jungkim@international.ucla.edu if you have any questions.
