Lucas Avidan: Ph.D. Student, UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology (M.A. Ethnomusicology, UCLA; B.A., Music and English, Middlebury College, 2015). Current research: popular music in Tanzania, social media, music as archive. 

I currently serve as a Co-Editor of Book Reviews for Ufahamu; A Journal of African Studies and work as a teaching associate for the Ethnomusicology Department at UCLA. 

Prior to UCLA, I worked as a secondary school teacher in Tarrytown, NY. I hope to contribute to Ufahamu's tradition of publishing quality work from scholars throughout the African continent.
