The Craft and Folk Art Museum presents an exhibition of beautiful ceramic art, produced in the heart of South Africa. These extravagant and charming ceramics are created by local artisans that use Zulu legend and the African landscape as their inspiration. The exhibition closes on Sunday, January 27.

Internationally-acclaimed and sold out at two Christie's auctions, Ardmore Ceramics feature a dazzling array of teapots, bowls, plates, vases decorated with delicately sculpted motifs and exuberant colors.  This exhibit is curated by CCH Pounder, actress and activist, and Malena Ruth of the African Millennium foundation.

About the Craft and Folk Art Museum:

• The Craft and Folk Art Museum (CAFAM) hosts dynamic exhibitions of traditional folk art and contemporary craft with the aim of educating the public on the global connections shared across all cultures and nationalities. CAFAM also hosts a variety of educational programming including family art workshops, lecture series, and musical performances.  Also on site is the CAFAM Museum Shop, which was highlighted as one of Southern California's best museum shops by Los Angeles Magazine (August 2006). The Shop has an array of gifts, art, clothing, and homeware from around the world. The Museum Shop collaborates with local artists and global cooperatives in order to promote fair trade.  

• The Craft and Folk Art Museum is a Los Angeles nonprofit cultural arts organization dedicated to the public presentation and preservation of folk arts and contemporary craft.  Founded in 1965, originally as "The Egg and The Eye" by the late Edith Wyle, who passionately promoted traditional artisans and the virtue of handmade art, the Museum opened in 1973.  As a local Museum with global reach, CAFAM seeks to promote international goodwill and global understanding among its citizens. The Museum works to preserve and strengthen the folk culture of our community based on its belief that the quality of urban life is directly related to the vitality and diversity of viewpoints and traditions.

There are at three large public parking lots within a block of the Museum as well as two-hour street parking.
