4/29/2013	Jorge Paulo Lemann Scholarship and Fellowship Fund 2013-14 UCLA proudly announces the Jorge Paulo Lemann Scholarship and Fellowship Fund, established to strengthen educational exchange between UCLA and Brazil. The fund will provide partial support to Brazilian students accepted for study at UCLA and to UCLA students participating in established programs of study in Brazil.

3/1/2013	The Herbert and Helen Kawahara Fellowship A fellowship of $8,000 will be available for UCLA graduate students who wish to develop Japan expertise as they pursue professional training in a given academic discipline. Students with little or no Japanese studies background will be considered, as will those who intend to expand their earlier work on Japan. Amount: $8,000 Awards: 1
3/1/2013	The Sasakawa Fellowship Approximately 15 fellowships of up to $8,000 each will be awarded to continuing UCLA graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in Japanese Studies. Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated competence in the Japanese language. Categories of funding include, but are not limited to, fieldwork in Japan, tuition and fees, dissertation writing support, and other research-related travels. 3/1/2013	The Sasakawa Japanese Language Study Fellowship A few fellowships of up to $10,000 each will be available for UCLA graduate students who plan to study the Japanese language in Japan or in the United States. This fellowship is not designed for taking Japanese classes at UCLA during the normal academic year, but is primarily for programs such as IUC (whole year or summer), Middlebury College Summer Program, or UCLA Summer intensive program. UCLA 100,000 Strong Initiative

The Coca-Cola Foundation is supporting the U.S. State Department's 100,000 Strong Initiative by offering up to 15 $2,500 scholarships annually for students participating in the Travel Study or UC Education Abroad Program in China. The next round of scholarships will be announced in winter/spring 2012-13 and scholarship applications will be due in late March, 2013.

Each year the International Institute and its centers award over a half million dollars in direct support for faculty research projects in international and foreign area fields. The variety of research topics reflect the diverse scope of the Institute's concerns and objectives, whether an in-depth examination of regional issues, a historical perspective, or a topical issue with an interdisciplinary focus.
