The Institute features five separate seminars focusing on Africa, East Asia and the Pacific Rim, Europe and Russia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Every year ISOP offers southern California teachers accredited professional development opportunities through its Summer Institute, which features six concurrent, two-week long seminars focusing on Africa, East Asia and the Pacific Rim, Europe and Russia, International Relations, Latin America, and the Middle East.
ISOP, in association with the Center for International Education at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies (GSEIS), coordinates school site visits and in-service training; certificate and mentor programs; and development of curriculum, resources, and new media projects. We also collaborate on the Teachers As Scholars national project funded by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, a project which features seminars dealing with international studies issues and themes in comparative perspectives.
