Water for Children Africa, Inc. (WCA) is a charitable, non-profit organization founded in 1993 at the 2nd African African-American Summit Libreville, Gabon convened by the late Rev. Leon Sullivan. The Committee on Health, under the leadership of Dr. Louis Sullivan, then Secretary of Health and Human Services, recommended that safe water throughout Africa be established as a long term goal of the Summit. Founding President of WCA is Richard O. Butcher, M.D.
