Majors

International and Area Studies Majors

The International and Area Studies majors allow students to analyze the area from an interdisciplinary and modern perspective. The majors seek to ground students in broad international issues which they can then use to focus on particular concerns of that part of the world.   Students who purse the International and Area Studies major have to complete the intermediate level of any modern language related to the area.  The language requirement can also be fulfilled in part or in total via a placement exam given through the appropriate language department.

African & Middle Eastern Studies BA
