Returnees

Study Abroad Programs are life-altering. We hope that you have had an exceptional overseas experience and that you will capitalize on this powerful experience by continuing to interact in EAP-related activities:

Enroll in “Reflections of Education Abroad Program Study” Education 142 Course

This 4-unit course will provide you with a structured opportunity to deepen you reflections on your time abroad through contact with literature, academic articles and speakers. It is a forum for you to share your experiences with other EAP returnees as well as EAP Reciprocity students, international students studying at UCLA through the EAP exchange programs. The course includes field experiences related to study abroad and international education. Each week you will engage in 2-3 hours of services work. Service activities include peer advising in the EAP Office, writing articles for the EAP newsletter, giving presentations in classrooms and dorms to publicize EAP, and providing current program-specific information to students planning to embark on an Education Abroad Program.

Join the EAP Club

The EAP Club, a student-run, student-sponsored club, provides an informal and enjoyable environment in which EAP Returnees, Reciprocity students and EAP Staff can participate in local international events and meet for social activities.

The EAP Club mission is to:

  • Provide a forum for socialization among those who have participated in EAP programs.
  • Provide greater awareness of and exposure to International cultural aspects.
  • To advance goodwill and understanding between International cultures.

Joining the club will help you network with UCLA students with world-wide international experiences, backgrounds and cultures.

Participate in EAP Office activities

As an EAP returnee, you are among our greatest assets and we value your experience. We recognize that study abroad is a remarkable experience, one in which you will want to discuss and continue to learn from others who have had similar experiences.

  • Your current, relevant knowledge of your host country and program is an invaluable resource for UCLA students planning to study abroad. We hope you will be willing to participate in the EAP orientations relevant to the country in which you studied and/or permit us to use you as a reference for perspective students.
  • We invite you to join us at the EAP “Welcome Back” reception. At these events you can network with other EAP’ers as well as UCLA students from countries in which you may have traveled. Be sure to watch for the invitation we will e-mail you.
  • Share your stories and photos with us. EAP staff members select student articles and photos for use on our website, in our newsletters and promotional materials. You might even win a cash prize in our EAP Photo Contest.

Apply through Work Study to assist in the EAP Office

The EAP Office hires students with Work Study assistance. If you are eligible for Work Study, send a resume with a cover letter to the EAP Office. We value our student workers and consider them part of the EAP team.
