Come and learn about how to get ready and apply to the Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships for graduate, undergraduate and professional students.

The National Resource Centers of the UCLA International Institute invite UCLA students to attend the Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowship information session. The U.S. Department of Education FLAS Fellowship program supports graduate and undergraduate training in the following modern foreign languages and related area studies

  • Quechua, Portuguese, Advanced Spanish (Latin America)
  • Chinese, Japanese, Korean (East Asia)
  • Indonesian, Filipino/Tagalog, Khmer, Thai and Vietnamese (Southeast Asia )
  • All European languages offered at UCLA (Europe/Eurasia)
  • Arabic, Armenian, Hebrew, Persian and Turkish (Middle East)

Join us and learn how to apply and receive tuition and a stipend!**

        Academic Year Graduate:           $15,000 stipend plus full tuition and fees                                                                     

        Academic Year Undergrad:         up to $10,000 tuition and a $5,000 stipend

        Summer Grad/Undergrad:           up to $5,000 tuition and a $2500 stipend 

** Some restrictions may apply. Please attend the information session or check with your assigned FLAS coordinator
