Professor Khaled Abou El Fadl was awarded the University of Oslo Human Rights Award in 2007 for his lifetime contribution to the field of Human Rights and was named a Carnegie Scholar in Islamic Law in 2007. He teaches Islamic Jurisprudence International Human Rights, and Political Asylum at the UCLA School of Law, and is the Chair of the UCLA Islamic Studies Interdepartmental Program.
