This workshop encourages participants to reflect on their own writing. We will depart from the principle that “to write well, one must rethink and remain wary of what is written.” With distance, the text gains in objectivity, but the learning process cannot be reduced to a recipe.  During the first part of our meetings, we will examine the nature of the review and the crônica. Both genres flirt with literary value but require distinct uses of language that deploy reason and emotion, as we will see analyzing texts by contemporary Brazilian authors. The second part of our meetings will be devoted to developing participants’ writing style in these two genres through group discussion.
