A Careers in Asia Talk with Kapil Gupta, US Dept. of State
Kapil Gupta has been a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State since 2005. He is currently serving as an Economic Officer in the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana. He previously served as a Vice Consul and Economic Officer in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Kapil Gupta was a Country Director for Afghanistan on the policy staff of the Secretary of Defense. His first career was in consulting, serving U.S. federal government clients. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in political studies, Master of Science in international political economy from the London School of Economics, and Juris Doctorate from Cornell University. He is a recipient of the National Security Education Program's Boren Fellowship, which supported a legal externship with the New Delhi office of the World Bank.
