Co-sponsored with the UCLA Film & Television Archive’s Research and Study Center

In celebration of Black History Month these sponsors present a special screening of Los Angeles station KNXT's groundbreaking television documentary, Black on Black.  First broadcast during the tension-filled summer of 1968, Black on Black gave African-American residents of South Central Los Angeles a chance to speak for themselves, without narrator, host, reporter, script or commercial interruption.  Winner of numerous awards, including an Emmy and the first NAACP Image Award.

Screening introduced by Dan Einstein, Television Archivist.  A panel discussion with Black on Black Producer Joe Saltzman and Executive Producer Dan Gingold, moderated by Dr. Darnell Hunt, Director of the Bunche Center, will follow the screening.
