Film screening as part of the Arab Film Festival 2008
Amour D'Enfants
Director: Fares Khalil
(Lebanon, 2008, 107 minutes)
This fresh and playful romantic comedy follows Tony (Elie Mitri), a university student, who works in at a coffee shop and is dating Valerie, a model. Meanwhile, Carine, an actress, is engaged to Jean-Pierre, who works in a bank. Tony and Carine meet by chance as Carine’s engagement is in disrepair. A friendship slowly emerges between them, making everything even more complicated. This sweet and truly independent Lebanese film follows the transformation of a great friendship into an exceptional love.
Arafat & I
Director: Mahdi Fleifel
(Palestine/UK, 2008, 18 minutes)
Perhaps the unabridged copy of your favorite politician’s biography isn't the best gift to a new love interest, as evidenced in this quirky Seinfield-esque short.
