Acupuncture researcher Professor Han Jisheng, is an internationally renowned neuroscientist. His research helped pinpoint the scientific basis of acupuncture in relieving pain. His research showed that acupuncture triggers the release of endorphins and other pain-blocking chemicals in the body. He has helped develop pain management as a medical specialty in China.
Dr. Ka-Kit Hui founded the UCLA Center for East-West-Medicine in 1993, which was one of the first integrative medicine centers in the United States. He has developed innovative clinical, educational, and research programs, and spearheads the Visual History Project to preserve and promote the legacy of pioneers in the field.
This public lecture is presented by the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine and co-sponsored by the UCLA Collaborative Centers for Integrative Medicine. email: cewm@mednet.ucla.edu
