Adaptation of the novel As Pelejas de Ojuara by Nei Leandro de Castro. The film is set in the mythical and fantastical Northeast of Brazil. Ze Araujo, a traveling salesman, dominated by his wife, and exploited by his father-in-law, rebels against this life and becomes the legendary Ojuara, a local hero who turned the Northeast upside down. As a genuine Brazilian lonesome cowboy with a strong sense of justice, Ojuara lives through the most hilarious and unexpected adventures involving many women, drinking-fests, and a peculiar encounter with the Devil.
