Distinguished International Speaker Series featuring Ms. Nushin Arbabzadah, Former Chief Sub. Editor of BBC World Service, hosted by the Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars
Nushin Arbabzadah, a current visiting scholar at the UCLA International Institute, grew up in Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation. She has graduate degrees in German and Spanish Literature & Linguistics from the University of Hamburg and Middle Eastern Studies from Cambridge University. She has worked as a Chief Sub-Editor for the BBC World Service where she specialized on social and political issues in contemporary Afghanistan. Her first book “From Outside In: Refugees and British Society” was published in London by Arcadia in April 2007.
