The UCLA Department of Ethnomusicology invites you to a presentation by Allison Adah Johnson, Candidate for the Tenure-Track Position in World Music Theory.
Allison Adah Johnson received her Ph.D. and M.F.A. degrees in composition from UC San Diego and California Institute of the Arts, respectively. Her B.A. in music was obtained from Stanford University. At Occidental College, she has taught academic courses in cross-cultural composition and theory, music of Asia and the South Pacific, and hip hop, and power, identity, and at Cogswell Polytechnical College, she taught courses on world music. In addition to her research on Asian American music, her compositions have been performed in venues in Southern California, Cambridge, Massachusetts, New York City, Portland, and Berlin, Germany.
