ISLC Summer 2010 K-12 Workshop
Partnering with several centers in the International Institute, this summer's K-12 workshop focuses on Internationalism.
This summer, the Title VI centers of the UCLA International Institute will launch a partnership with the International Studies Learning Center (ISLC) in South Gate, CA, a 6-12 span school with an international focus established as part of the International Studies Schools Network founded by the Asia Society. The partnership begins this June 22-24 with a summer pedagogy workshop for ISLC teachers. Future activities will include ongoing teacher professional development during the academic year; curriculum development and dissemination; guest speakers; and annual field trips by ISLC students and teachers to UCLA to foster a college-going culture and to introduce international studies on the college campus.
