한국 성별화 정책 - 정치참여 고려 - Korean Gender Policy under Consideration of Political Participation
By Hae-Soon Kim, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main / CKS Post Doc and Visiting Scholars Colloquium Series
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
12:00 PM
11377 Bunche Hall
UCLA
Gender policy (성별화정책) was first introduced in Korea after the 4th World Women’s Conference held in Beijing in 1995. From then on, the policy gradually considered women and men with equity. The policy contains gender relations as its principle of order and structure. This lecture aims at decoding the politics and political institutions in Korea as the alliance of men is concealed and still remains under the guise of a democratic constitution. Concepts of the political science of “gender state” will be analyzed empirically with the help of concrete Korean gender policy. Hereby, the double role of gender can be realized: gender relations are constituted throughout the policy while gender itself also constitutes the policy.
