This ninety-minute Chinese documentary records the life and performance of China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe. Wonderful and fascinating, just like a dream, it reveals art and human nature and illustrates amicability and life as it explores an innovative series of performances. The documentary will also be shown in the Linwood Dunn Theatre at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on September 29. A delegation of the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe will also attend the exhibit reception hosted by UCLA University Librarian Gary E. Strong on Sunday, September 23.
Richard C. Rudolph East Asian library is also hosting an exhibition of “A Century of East Asian Films” at the lobby of Charles E. Young Research Library through September 2007. This exhibit traces the intricate multiple histories of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cinema over the course of the tumultuous twentieth century and highlights their achievements both domestically and internationally. The exhibit's contents have been drawn primarily from the holdings of the East Asian Library.
