UCLA Terasaki Center Visiting Scholar

Born in Kobe, Japan, Jun Hori has over 13 years of experience in broadcast journalism. Having received his BA from Rikkyo University in German Language and Literature, he was recruited to join the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, NHK, in 2001. Hori served for several years at the Okayama branch, first as a local news reporter, and later an anchor, joining NHK’s national news team as a reporter for News Watch 9 in 2006. In 2010, Hori became an anchor at BizPo, NHK’s premier economy-focus news show. Hori has regularly covered national stories, as well as produced over a dozen special reports on the economy, crime, and Japan’s recovery since the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.
