History 201A: After Alexander: The Hellenistic Middle East and Central Asia, taught by Rolf Strootman, Utrecht University
This seminar examines the history of the Middle East and Central Asia in the Hellenistic Period. The focus will be on the Seleucid Empire (312-64 BCE).
Attention will also be paid to "Hellenism" as a cultural concept and the debates and controversies connected with it.
