The University of Minnesota Chinese Program is offering Chinese in Tianjin from Mid-June to Mid-August at Nankai University, Tianjin, PRC. Chinese in Tianjin focuses on outstanding Mandarin Chinese instruction in beginning through advanced levels. Classes are taught by Nankai University faculty, under the supervision of the University of Minnesota Chinese Program. Elective courses in Beijing Opera performance and Chinese calligraphy are also included. As part of the program, students participate in overnight trips to Beidaihe and Beijing.
The estimated cost for the 2002 program is $3500. This fee includes all tuition, registration fees, and dormitory accommodations. Airfare and visa costs are not included. A $40, non-refundable fee is due with the completed application materials. A non-refundable deposit of $400 is due upon acceptance into the program. The deposit is applied toward the total program cost. The full program fee is due approximately six weeks before the beginning of the program. Special considerations may be made for financial aid recipients.
