Professor Kevin Terraciano was interviewed by Agencia EFE about his latest research project: translating the Codex Sierra, a 62 page Mesoamerican manuscript that reveals the commercial transactions and cultural exchanges in a community in the Mixteca Alta region of Oaxaca, Mexico, between 1550 to1564. This Codex, as explained by Prof. Terraciano, reveals pictorial modes of writing, Náhuatl and Mixtec words using the roman alphabet, and Arabic and roman numbers. His research will result in a forthcoming book that analyzes and translates the Codex.  The article is written in Spanish; to read the entire article, please click here.
