Graduate Fieldwork Fellowships

Through a collaboration with National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), the UCLA Asia Pacific Center offers awards of up to $3,750 for UCLA graduate students to conduct Taiwan-related research at NTNU. Students from any discipline may apply, but research must incorporate topics or methodologies of the humanities, social or behavioral sciences. Graduate student applicants must be current UCLA students in good standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Each application must be accompanied by a proposal of 2–3 pages in length, an unofficial UCLA transcript, CV, budget, and one UCLA faculty letter of recommendation. Proposals should identify a department or faculty member at NTNU who will host you. Include the dates of your proposed travel.

Faculty Travel Grants

The UCLA Asia Pacific Center will offer short-term travel grants of up to $3,000 to UCLA faculty for short-term visits at NTNU. Faculty may use the funds to engage in Taiwan-related research and/or to strengthen academic relationships with scholars at NTNU and in Taiwan. Faculty from any discipline may apply, but research must incorporate topics or methodologies of the humanities, social or behavioral sciences. The application should include a brief proposal including purpose and dates of the visit, collaborating partners at NTNU, and an estimated budget.
