Peter B. Hammond passed away on October 4. Professor Hammond joined the UCLA Department of Anthropology in 1981 and was the recipient of numerous grants and fellowships and a very highly regarded instructor. He conducted research, principally in Africa, as well as Cuba and the Caribbean.
