Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies
UCLA established its Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies within the International Studies and Overseas Programs, the predecessor organization of the UCLA International Institute, in the fall of 1991. There were two central reasons for the Center's inception. One was to help develop the infrastructure of Japanese Studies on the UCLA campus. The second was to provide an academic understanding of the increasingly complex issues that emerged between the United States and Japan in recent years.Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies
